Brandied Oranges Recipe
Recipe : Brandied Oranges
Ingredients :
1 tbsp finely shredded orange rind
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
6-8 oranges, peeled and all pith removed
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup brandy
Method :
Place
orange rind in small heatproof bowl, cover with boiling water and
leave for 3-4 minutes; drain. Combine water and sugar in small pan,
stir until sugar dissolves; bring to boil. Add rind, cook 8-10
minutes or until rind is translucent (take care not to burn). Cut
oranges into slices and arrange in a glass bowl. Top with cooked
rind and any remaining syrup. Combine juice and brandy, pour over
oranges. Refrigerate at least 3 hours to allow flavors to blend.
Serve very cold. Garnish with mint leaves, if desired.
